Gresham Lecture: A Global History of the Eclipse of 29 May 1919
The British Society for the History of Mathematics and the Gresham College have devoted their annual joint session to the theme 'Mathematical Expeditions'.
The event took place on the afternoon of the 23rd of October. It opened with two lectures by Stephen Johnston and Rebekah Higgitt, and finished with the Gresham Lecture, dedicated to the scientific expeditions observing the solar eclipse of 1919, by Professor Ana Simões, co-coordinator of CIUHCT and scientific curator of the exhibition E3: Einstein, Eddington and Eclipse.
