CIUHCT researcher and current vice-coordinator Ana Simões, has started her mandate as President of the European Society of History of Science (ESHS) on September 16, after the General Assembly of the Society's 8th Meeting, a position she will hold until the next meeting, in 2020. Her Presidential Address will be published in a forthcoming issue of the Society's journal, Centaurus.

The third volume of the BJHS Themes, a sister journal to the British Journal for the History of Science, has as its theme "Worlds of Science for Children and Young People, 1830-1991", and is co-edited by the CIUHCT researcher and Kristian H. Nielsen.
- Ana Viseu elected to 4S's Council

Ana Viseu, CIUHCT researcher, has been recently elected for the Council of the Society for Social Studies of Science, one of the society's governing bodies. Her mandate should expire in 2021.
- CIUHCT partners with two research networks based in the Netherlands and Denmark, GREASE and EurReS

Both networks are spin-offs of the network Tensions of Europe, and are funded by the national governments of the Netherlands (GREASE) and Denmark (EurReS).
- Cândido Marciano receives scientific merit medal at the Ciência 2018 meeting

The medal was presented at the Ciência 2018 meeting, by His Excellence the Prime Minister of Portugal and the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education.
