Maria Elvira Callapez writes about the history of plastics for the SIC Notícias website

CIUHCT researcher Maria Elvira Callapez, principal investigador of the research project The Triumph of Bakelite, has written an article for the SIC Notícias website, which figures next to several online pieces extending the half-hour report "Plástico Nosso de Cada Dia" [Our Daily Plastics], by journalist Carla Castelo, broadcast on June 20.
Next to environmental concerns with plastic waste, Maria Elvira Callapez provides the historical background of the use of these materials, arguing that "any future scenario where plastics don't play an even more important role in our lives sounds irrealistic".
