CIUHCT researchers reach the presidency of international scientific societies

Researchers Ana Simões and Marta Lourenço have just been elected to the presidency of two reknowned scientific societies, the European Society for the History of Science (ESHS), and the international committee University Museums and Collections, which is a part of the International Council of Museums (ICOM-UMAC).
Regarding ESHS, the president-elect will spend the next two years working with the sitting president and the former president, taking office from 2018 to 2020. ESHS aims to promote european cooperation in the field of History of Science; the society organizes every two years on the biggest meetings in the field, with the previous conference having taken place in Prague, last September. ICOM-UMAC, on the other hand, is concerned with the role of collections with higher learning institutions and the communities they serve.
