  • Global history and the early modern world;
  • Iberian overseas empires in their global context, 16th-17th centuries;
  • Portuguese empire and early modern Asia;
  • Forms of knowledge and political practices between Europe and Asia, 16th-17th centuries.

Coordination

  • 2019-2025: “The Hidden Layer: In-Between Lives and Archives of the Early Modern Portuguese Empire”, funded by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT).
  • 2017-2019: “Global History and Micro History”; funded by Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Network Grant, UK; co-investigator, with Maxine Berg, Warwick (principal investigator) and John-Paul Ghobrial, Oxford (co-investigator).
  • 2012-2013: “South Asian Cosmopolitanism”; funded by École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris, and European University Institute, Florença. Co-researcher, with Ines Zupanov and Corinne Lefèvre.
