Photography, technology and racism in historical perspective

Description
Workshop within the scope of the FCT-NOVA summer activities (the 2nd edition in an online format) in which representations about black populations in the 19th century and current prejudices are compared, using photographs and documents from the period; will include practical exercises with photographs from the period. The objective is to make known part of the historical roots of racism, in addition to stimulating critical thinking and the sociocultural consequences of technology.
Target Audience
Secondary school students, university students, adults in general.
