Presentation of the project “Knowledge in Science, Technology and Medicine: Made in Portugal”

On June 19, the presentation of the project “Science, Technology and Medicine Knowledge: Made in Portugal” took place at 6 p.m. at Caleidoscópio at Universidade de Lisboa.

This project is coordinated by Ana Duarte Rodrigues and makes the research carried out at the Inter-University Center for the History of Science and Technology (CIUHCT) accessible to a wide audience. The two films on show, each 20 minutes long, invite you to explore the knowledge generated during the Iberian Maritime Expansion and the construction of modern Lisbon in the 19th century, from the perspective of the urban history of science. In this way, CIUHCT presents to the public this project that promotes scientific and historical dissemination.

This short film (20min) invites you to explore the knowledge developed during the Iberian maritime expansion through the latest research carried out by researchers from the Interuniversity Center for the History of Science and Technology (CIUHCT). This film is part of the project “Science, Technology and Medicine (STM) knowledge: Made in Portugal”, coordinated by Ana Duarte Rodrigues, created with the aim of promoting scientific and historical dissemination, making CIUHCT research accessible to a wide audience.

  • Urban History of Science, The making of modern Lisbon in the 19th century, presented by Ana Duarte Rodrigues

This short film (20min) invites you to learn about the construction of modern Lisbon in the 19th century, from the perspective of the urban history of science, through the latest research carried out by researchers from the Interuniversity Center for the History of Science and Technology (CIUHCT). This film is part of the project “Science, Technology and Medicine (STM) knowledge: Made in Portugal”, coordinated by Ana Duarte Rodrigues, and created with the aim of promoting scientific and historical dissemination, making CIUHCT research accessible to a wide audience.
