Scientific reports

The CIUHCT activities' reports compile all the bibliographic productions of the centre's members for each year, as well as conferences, workshops, and outreach initiatives. They are addressed every year to the national Foundation for Science and Technology for review. All of these documents are in portuguese.

CEPAC

As an R&D unit funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (Ministry of Science and Higher Learning), CIUHCT must report to a Permanent External Comission of Scientific Advisory (CEPAC, in portuguese) — see articles 6 and 14 regulating the Multi-annual Funding Program for R&D Units. The CEPAC is composed by scholars of distinguished merit, including foreign researchers, tasked with analysing the Unit's development, and for this reason they are advised to visit it anually, as well as submit a statement on its plan of activities, its annual scientific reports, and its budget, to be addressed to FCT. The CEPAC's composition is provided to FCT upon the submission of the centre's plan of activities and budget.

The CEPAC's current members are the researchers Kostas Gravroglu (Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Athens), Antoni Roca-Rosell (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), Antonio García-Belmar (Universidad de Alicante), e Marianne Klemun (Institut für Geschichte, Universität Wien). Their reports are available in PDF files that compile each member's statement (in english).

In 2022, in preparation for the evaluation at the end of 2023, CIUHCT received from the new Permanent External Scientific Advisory Committee (CEPAC) — namely María M. Portuondo (Johns Hopkins), Matteo Valleriani (Max-Planck-Institut für Wissenschaftsgeschichte) and Patricia Fara (University of Cambridge) — reports regarding CIUHCT's performance over the previous two years.

Other documents

The intermediate report drafted by the FCT's Scientific Council for Social Sciences and Humanities (2011), which takes into account several research units' inputs, namely CIUHCT, can be consulted here (portuguese document). The report includes a number of recommendations for research policies in those areas. Also available is the Consensus Report of the European Science Foundation panel, selected by FCT for 2013's evaluation of R&D units, which affected the funding programme for 2015-2020.
