Launch of publications by Inês Navalhas, Breno Borges and Hugo Soares on July 8th

On July 8, at 3 p.m., in the FCT NOVA Library Auditorium, there was the launch of the books Comunicar Ciência e Tecnologia: Os livros de divulgação científica da Editora Gradiva no ensino superior, by Inês Navalhas; O Significado do Património Ferroviário, by Breno Borges; and O Instituto Nacional de Investigação Científica: Percurso e Influência na Política Científica Portuguesa (1976-1992), by Hugo Soares. 

These works are the result of the publication of the authors' doctoral theses, as part of the doctoral program in History, Philosophy and Heritage of Science and Technology, by Edições Colibri.

The presentation featured Cristina Luís talking to Inês Navalhas about her book; Jorge Custódio commenting on Breno Borges' work; and finally Ana Simões discussing Hugo Soares' publication. The opening remarks were given by Full Professor and former CIUHCT Coordinator Maria Paula Diogo, FCT NOVA Vice-Director José Paulo Santos, CIUHCT Co-Coordinator Isabel Amaral, the Chair of the Department of Applied Social Sciences José Luís Câmara Leme and the Coordinator of the doctoral program in History, Philosophy and Heritage of Science and Technology Paula Urze, with a brief final commentary from Fernando Mão de Ferro, editor of Colibri.
