Opening of the exhibition Pelos Labirintos da Medicina Portuguesa nos Séculos XIX e XX (Labyrinths of Portuguese Medicine in the 19th and 20th Centuries) at the Museu da Farmácia

Last Friday, 16th June, the inauguration of the exhibition Pelos Labirintos da Medicina Portuguesa nos Séculos XIX e XX (Labyrinths of Portuguese Medicine in the 19th and 20th Centuries) took place at the Museu da Farmácia de Lisboa. This event marked the end of the Lisbon stage of the 5th Luso-Brazilian Conference on the History of Tropical Medicine (5LBMHTM), which took place in Lisbon between the 14th and 16th, and from 19th and 20th June in Braga. The inauguration gathered: Isabel Amaral, responsible for the co-curation of the exhibition and president of the congress organization (together with Gisele Sanglard, Fiocruz); José Júlio Alferes, director of FCT NOVA; Ema Paulino, president of the National Association of Pharmacies; and João Neto, the director of the Museu da Farmácia.
The temporary exhibition Pelos Labirintos da História da Medicina Portuguesa nos Séculos XIX e XX (Labyrinths of the History of Portuguese Medicine in the 19th and 20th Centuries), curated by Isabel Amaral and Paula Basso, deputy director of the Museu da Farmácia, is open until 30 September. Each core of the exhibition, exhibiting historical material culture, contains a QR Code that refers to interviews conducted in contemporary times that explore the themes of each core.
