Ignacio García-Pereda won the 2023 Merit Award for Science and Innovation

CIÊNCIAS organized the 6th Research & Innovation Day on October 22. During this year's edition, the 2023 Science and Innovation Merit Awards were presented. CIUHCT's Ignacio García-Pereda won the Merit Award in the area of History and Philosophy of Science. In the previous two years, Ana Duarte Rodrigues, CIUHCT's Coordinator, was awarded this Merit Prize in the area of History and Philosophy of Science.

At this awards session, António Branco, from NLX, won the Research Funds Merit Award 2023; Fernando Antunes, from CQE, received the Innovation Merit Award 2023; and Pedro Matos Soares, from IDL, won the Scientific Merit Award 2023. Scientists were also honored for their research in their field: Bernardo Duarte, from MARE, won the Life Sciences award; Paulo J. Costa, from BioISI, won the Chemical Sciences and Technology award; Sara Silva, from LASIGE, won the Computational Sciences and Engineering award; Nuno Araújo, from CFTC, won the Physical Sciences and Engineering award; Ignacio García-Pereda won the History and Philosophy of Sciences award; and Pedro Duarte, from CEMS.UL, won the Mathematics award.
