CIUHCT receives a new Scientific Employment contract
03 December 2019
In the 300 contracts available under the Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus 2018, CIUHCT has secured one. Although this result does not satisfy us, given the size of our research area in the context of Arts and Humanities and the profile of the awarded contracts, CIUHCT is positioned, once again, as a research unit of reference.
Using statistics shared by FCT MCTES, the percentage of contracts awarded was 8% of total applications; in the area of Arts and Humanities (not just the panel with the same name, but including all panels in this scientific area), awared contracts represent 1,3% of total applications and 17% of approved contracts.
Naturally, CIUHCT's coordinators wish to congratulate researcher Maurizio Esposito (Principal Researcher contract). However, we would also like to give a word of encouragement to the other researchers who, although they have presented valuable projects, have not been selected to continue their work. On the part of the CIUHCT Coordination, we will continue to press for a more inclusive and definitive solution that recognizes the merit of younger researchers.
