3 FCT-Tenure positions (NOVA FCT)

The “FCT-Tenure” Program is a new FCT funding instrument designed to promote hiring doctoral graduates exclusively for permanent positions. It is a key instrument in both the professional stabilization of researchers and their lines of research, and in creating a more attractive and sustainable career horizon for researchers in the early stages of their careers.

In the first edition of this program, 1,100 applications were approved for funding, at the national level, for all areas of knowledge. In this extremely competitive call, whose provisional results were published on August 14, 2024, three of these applications were approved for NOVA FCT. It will thus be possible to hire 3 assistant professors for the Department of Applied Social Sciences and CIUHCT will now have the chairs of History of Science, History of Technology and Science and Technology Studies (STS), ensuring three permanent career positions for researchers in their area of expertise.
