2nd Hi-BicLab History Lab Workshop
ISEG, Rooftop Terrace, Edf. Quelhas (R. das Francesinhas, nº 21, Lisbon)
17 October 2023 · 09h30
This event will be the 2nd thematic workshop of the Hi-BicLab Evolution of transport in 20th century Lisbon and the future of urban mobility: policies, demand, supply and intermodality Registration is free, but compulsory through this form, up to and including 16 October.
In this second workshop we will be working on questions about Lisbon's urban mobility previously raised with the project's partners about the modes of mobility in use, with an emphasis on public transport and how they fit in (and fit in) with car and cycle mobility.
We invite those taking part in this workshop to analyse historical sources and current documents. We would very much like to receive answers to the questions that will be addressed, such as:
- What was thought about public transport in the planned Lisbon of the 20th century?
- What links can we establish between the evolution of public transport and car transport?
- What proposals are being discussed today about public transport in the Lisbon area and how might they relate to cycle mobility?
ISEG, one of the institutions taking part in the Hi-BicLab project, is hosting this workshop and is also where the exhibition "A Cidade para quem?: Quotidianos cicláveis nas ruas lisboetas do século XX" is currently on display in the atrium of the Francisco Pereira de Moura Library until 20 October.
